Summary
Anne Frank was born on 12 June 1929 in Frankfurt. Her family emigrated to the Netherlands in 1933. In Amsterdam, she had a happy childhood until 1942, despite the war. On 6 July 1942, the Franks smuggled into the "l-Appendix" of the building of 263, Prinsengracht. On 4 August 1944, they were arrested on denunciation. Deported to Auschwitz, then to Bergen-Belsen, Anne died of typhus in February or March 1945, shortly after her sister Margot. The girl kept her diary from 12 June 1942 to 1 August 1944, and her testimony, known throughout the world, remains one of the most moving on the daily life of a Jewish family under Nazi yoke.
