Gabriel used to do the four hundred blows with his friends in their corner of paradise. And then the family harmony broke up at the same time as his "little country", Burundi, this piece of Central Africa brutally mistreated by history. Later, Gabriel revives a world forever lost. Heartbeat and the breaths cut, deep thoughts and laughter deployed, the perfume of lemonella, termites on stormy days, jacarandas in bloom... Childhood, his infinite sweetness, his pains that never leave us. A luminous book. Astrid of Larminat, Le Figaro. A beautiful first novel, tearing and incandescent, which forces admiration. Yann Perreau, Les Inrockuptibles. Gaby ns not a little African, he is a child of the world carried away by the fury of destiny. Our common haunt. Maria Malagardis, Liberation.
